Real Talk/Real Food: Sorry, Not Sorry

“Sorry” can be a powerful word with which to cordially express regret when it’s warranted. “Sorry I stepped on your foot.” “I’m so sorry that your dog died.” But the word has greater implications as well. When used mindlessly or habitually, “sorry” can actually strip you of your power, as in, “Sorry, would you pass a tissue?” or “Sorry for crowding you” when standing on a packed subway train at rush hour. This habit often crosses over into the workplace, where professionals (especially women) can inadvertently dilute their power and undermine their confidence in the presence of colleagues.

If you recognize yourself sporting the “sorry” habit, DRIVEN has an intimate event designed for you. During this November’s Real Talk/Real Food discussion, we’ll compel you to step into your power shoes and start using your “pointy elbows” to politely stake your own ground. You’ll be inspired to stand taller and catch yourself before another misguided “sorry” slips out, while enjoying a home-cooked meal paired with particularly interesting wines. Space is extremely limited, so sign up today!

6:00 – 6:30pm networking and noshing
